On
October 26, 2002 the United Catholic Music and Video Association (UCMVA)
held it's third annual UCMVA Unity Awards show at the Hartke Theater,
Catholic University, in Washington D.C. This was a beautiful night of
praise and worship through song and Christian fellowship. Co-hosted by
Pollyanna Dorough with a special guest appearance from Howie D of the
Backstreet Boys, this event was no small deal!Out of the vast pool of
Catholic talent nominated in the various categories this year, one song
and one group of artists stood out. The Catholic Artists for Relief and
their song, "You Are Not Alone" took ten Unity Awards. The beauty of this
song is that it was written in response to the tragic events of September
11, 2001 and the proceeds from the sales go to help the families of those
killed in the attack on the Pentagon.
This touching song, "You Are
Not Alone" was performed by these top notch Catholic Artists: David
Patrick Bryan, Julie Carrick,
Jamie Dillon, Lynn
Geyer, Gretchen Harris, Greg Magirescu, James Milanesa, Jeannie Pomanowski,
Katrina Rae, Ned Tonner, Sharon Urbano, Denise Underwood, and David Taylor
Wright. The executive producers of the project and 2002 Video Producers of
the Year are Katrina Rae and Ned Tonner.
This year's Unity Award show was ALL about the Catholic Artists for
